Tasting Notes for Talisker 25 Year Old
Nose: A light, dry nose that is almost floral. Ripe apples with just a hint of smoke and polished wood.
Palate: Floral and lightly smoky! Hints of rose, sticky toffee pudding, milk chocolate, ground pepper and aniseed. Delicate for a 25 year old dram.
Finish: Lingering spice from chilies, with some salted caramel and, again, just a hint of smoke.
Overall: This 25-year-old island whisky, from one of my favourite distilleries, was gifted to me on my 25th birthday. And what a treat! The time in the cask has really toned down the salty, smoky notes that are associated with Talisker, but it is still a delicious and interesting dram.
